Job summary

A community-focused organization in the United Kingdom is seeking a part-time Mental Health Support Worker to provide supportive care within two hubs. The successful candidate will plan social activities, build relationships, and assist individuals with mental health challenges, while maintaining confidentiality. Essential qualifications include experience in health/social care and personal experience of mental health challenges. Qualifications

  • Experience in health/social care or the mental health/charity sector.
  • Strong group facilitation and communication skills.
  • Ability to support people empathetically and respectfully.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Personal lived experience of mental health challenges (essential).
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate social and recreational activities.
  • Build positive relationships and offer 1:1 practical support.
  • Complete assessments and link people to relevant Jami services.
  • Signpost to community and statutory services.
  • Support cultural and faith‑based events and activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and work within safeguarding and confidentiality guidelines.
