Job description
Legal Counsel & Company Secretary (Part‑time)

Your New Company, a leading UK organisation delivering mental health and neurodevelopmental services, is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel & Company Secretary to join them on a part‑time basis (circa 21‑28 hours per week). Operating within a regulated healthcare organisation, the role requires a UK qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in the financial services sector.

Responsibilities
  • New product support – assist commercial teams with product wordings and endorsements, implement new products, and advise product development teams on legal implications and risks of new commercial initiatives.
  • Contracts – review, negotiate and advise on supplier and partner contracts and NDAs.
  • Legislation and regulations – research, analyse and support business functions with implementation of applicable legislation and group‑wide policies, including insurance regulations, data protection and anti‑trust matters.
  • Working with the Compliance Officer to analyse applicable regulations and handle regulatory matters.
  • Disputes – assist in resolving third‑party complaints and contentious claims (with external counsel support where needed).
  • Assisting the Company Secretary in ensuring all filings are completed in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills
  • UK qualified barrister or solicitor (preferably 2+ PQE).
  • Sufficient seniority, gravitas and experience to persuade and influence senior management and business personnel.
  • Solid knowledge and experience of company laws, insurance law and regulations, preferably gained in‑house within an insurance or other financial services organisation.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and drafting skills.
