Responsibilities

• Conduct your duties as instructed by the Team Leader for that day. You do not have the authority to change your own, or any other operative’s duty for the day. This is a management task.
• When on the shop floor, ensure you are looking everywhere, including up, and wipe over all equipment as you pass them. This includes benches, mobile phone charging units, advertising screens and advertising boxes for the stores.
• At the end of your shift, clean your trolley so it’s ready for the next operative. This includes putting any used mops and cloths on to be washed.
• Do not comment on what other operatives are doing. If you have a genuine concern, request a meeting with your line management team and it will be dealt with properly. We will not tolerate complaints about colleagues as it impacts the team dynamic.
• Breaks are designated by the Team Leaders and must be adhered to. If you start your break later than told you must return on time. Exceptions apply for large spillages or incidents. Any additional break time may result in deductions.
• Enter the Blue Corridor 20 minutes before your shift ends to fully clean your trolley and deal with dirty cloths/mops. When starting your shift, be on the shop floor no later than 15 minutes after your start time.
• Carry a Dyster on shift and complete Spillage Logs and Toilet Check sheets when stationed in them. Give all spillage log sheets to Customer Services at the end of your shift.
• Look presentable on shift. Wear a clean and tidy uniform and safety shoes unless you provide a doctor’s note. Secure loose trousers with a belt and ensure stomach coverage with shirts/jumpers as required.
• COSHH sheets, Risk Assessments and Toolbox talks should be read annually and signed off.
• Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, starting with a file note, followed by an investigation and then disciplinary if necessary.
