This is a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant role to support a busy finance team.

An opportunity for a Part-time Accounts Assistant on a 12-month FTC, joining an expanding company who have an excellent reputation within their industry. This is a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant role to support a busy finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with financial transactions, record-keeping, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth financial operations.

Job Description:

  • As the Part-time Accounts Assistant, you will be assisting with purchase ledger transactions and managing aged creditors in Sage
  • Assist with and resolve transactional discrepancies promptly, daily
  • As the Part-time Accounts Assistant, you will work alongside the Commercial Team to assist them with their job costing, allocating expenses to specific projects, and costing to break down QS's times spent on projects
  • As the Part-time Accounts Assistant, you will be entering bank details into the bank from the PQQ form
  • Dealing with any discrepancies/disputes
  • Archiving where required
  • As the Part-time Accounts Assistant, you will liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal departments regarding financial transactions
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed
  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and enquiries professionally
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper, or similar role is essential
  • Experience with Sage 50 is essential for the role
  • Experience within the Building, Construction, Engineering, or similar industry is highly advantageous
  • A degree in Accounting & Finance or an AAT qualification would be ideal
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and basic accounting principles
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm / 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Salary: Negotiable
