Overview
Paramedic Practitioner/Home Visiting Practitioner. A fully qualified, experienced Paramedic Practitioner is sought to join the Practice Team at Victoria Cross Surgery. The role includes home visiting responsibilities for patients registered at the practice. Hours: 37.5. Salary: £53,000 depending on experience.
Reports to: Senior Partner (Clinical) and Practice and Business Manager (Administrative).
Responsibilities
The role includes clinical and autonomous practice within the Multidisciplinary Team:
- Diagnose and treat patients presenting with minor illness
- Triage and treat patients wishing to see a healthcare professional, making necessary referrals to the primary care team
- Discuss referrals to secondary care with the registered GP where possible
- Maintain safe, effective clinical practice within competency boundaries
- Advise patients on general health and minor ailments, referring to other team members as needed
- Work from the surgery and undertake home visits as an autonomous practitioner
- Operate in accordance with Health Professions Council guidance; maintain personal and professional standards
- Undertake community and in-surgery assessments, using diagnostic skills and initiating investigations where appropriate
- Provide education to service users to promote self-care and informed decision-making
- Communicate with the duty doctor for home visit assessments
- Contribute to peer review and best practice within the work environment
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous health records
- Deliver evidence-based care at high standards and align with local policies
- Engage in Continuous Professional Development and demonstrate standards of development
- Participate in audits and practice change to meet patient needs
- Contribute to team effectiveness and efficiency
Administration and professional responsibilities
- Participate in administrative and professional duties of the practice team
- Keep accurate and legible notes of consultations and treatments
- Keep the clinical computer system up to date
- Ensure service claims are accurate and report issues to the practice administrator
- Complete necessary documentation for patient care and registration
- Maintain statistical information for reports and audits
- Attend and participate in practice meetings
- Ensure indemnity and annual certificates are up to date

- Attend and contribute to practice meetings as required

Qualifications
Essential: Qualified Paramedic Practitioner
Desirable: Experience working in a GP Practice
