DWF is seeking to recruit a motivated and ambitious Paralegal to join our Major Injury and Casualty team in Leeds.

Our specialist insurance team includes a large renowned Catastrophic and Major Injury Team, who specialises in complex and major injury claims and advice.

As a Paralegal, you will support our legal team in delivering high-quality services to our clients and your success will be rewarded with progression opportunities that will see you grow from strength to strength.

Responsibilities
  • To assist fee earners and support our qualified individuals with the progression of cases through the litigation process, including assisting with disclosure, witness and expert evidence and preparing for trials/JSMs.
  • To act as a trusted member of the team whilst taking responsibility of tasks, including updating files, reviewing confidential records and, liaising with third parties.
  • Engage with clients and other stakeholders to gather and organise information.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the legal team.
  • Action cases in line with the department's and client's service standards and protocols
What will help you succeed in this role?
Essential
  • A real interest in EL/PL, RTA, personal injury or catastrophic injury cases, preferably with previous experience.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, whilst working to strict deadlines.
  • Basic to intermediate IT and keyboard skills with knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility, willingness to learn on the job and to participate in learning and development opportunities.
  • Excellent administration and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work to set deadlines and service levels.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to quickly and carefully analyse files and sensitive data.
Desirable
  • Background working within a busy commercial environment.
