Qualifications

  • Experience in a maintenance team is essential.

Job Role : Painter & Decorator

Location : HMP Huntercombe - RG9 5SB

Salary : £28,853.57

Contract : Full Time - Permanent (39hrs per week - Monday-Friday)

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at HMP Huntercombe, a CATEGORY C & over 18's male prison.

As a Painter & Decorator you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for a Painter & Decorator with any combination of :

  • A City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and decorating or equivalent (or significant experience / time served in a similar role)
  • Experience working in a maintenance team
  • An honest and reliable character, who can approach their work with a sense of purpose and pace
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

Future Plans

GFSL has been notified by its shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL's services will complete transfer to a private sector provider / providers no sooner than August 2027.
