Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at HMP Grendon Springhill. HMP Grendon is a Category B training prison, while HMP Springhill is a Category D open prison, and they are jointly managed and maintained by the same facilities team.

As a Painter Decorator, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues who include Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a safe and secure environment for all.

Responsibilities

As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, contribute to the safe and smooth operation of the prisons by performing painting and decorating tasks within the facilities, collaborating with other trades and staff to maintain a secure environment.

Qualifications
  • A City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent (or significant experience/time served in a similar role).
  • Experience working in a maintenance team.
  • An honest and reliable character with a sense of purpose and pace.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
