Job description

A rare opportunity has arisen to work within the world class paediatric respiratory department based at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. We are looking for an enthusiastic physiologist/cell biologist to join our multidisciplinary team who diagnose and treat the inherited condition Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD).

The successful candidate will be part of a highly specialist team of scientists and physiologists that perform nasal nitric oxide, nasal brushings and light microscopy for the diagnosis of PCD. In addition, the post holder will perform physiological tests (including spirometry, gas transfer, exhaled nitric oxide measurements and body plethysmography) on children with a range of respiratory conditions and work both in clinic and on the ward.

The successful candidate will work with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) including lab scientists, physiologists, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, administrators and play specialists. They will be expected to actively participate in MDT meetings and given the opportunity to contribute towards departmental research.
