Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse to join the Paediatric team on the Children's Wards at York Hospital. You should possess excellent clinical and leadership skills and be highly motivated and dedicated to provide support and leadership to junior staff to ensure a high standard of care is being delivered across both units.

Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously and as part of the team, coordinating and leading the team on a shift‑by‑shift basis, utilising and sharing your clinical expertise and acting as a positive role model within the department for staff, patients and carers.
  • Work with the medical workforce and multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding care to all Children and Young People who access the service.
  • Benefit from a robust preceptorship and ongoing competencies to support successful candidates.
  • Be supported by our enthusiastic Children’s Nursing Team, Nurse Educator Specialist Nurses, and medical staff, offering excellent learning and development opportunities.
