Overview

We continue to partner exclusively with a large food business that supplies a range of products to retailers across the UK. The business is seeing exciting growth and as a result they are looking to appoint a proactive Packaging Supply Chain Planner at their site in Kent to take full ownership of the packaging operations. This role is central to ensuring packaging is functional, sustainable, and fully compliant with industry standards. You\'ll be responsible for managing tray and packaging flows through the supply chain, supplier relationships, and stock levels while driving efficiency and cost savings.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day packaging operations, including the management of IFCO and EPS trays.
  • Monitor stock levels and maintain availability across depots.
  • Manage budgets for packaging and consumables, identifying opportunities for cost optimisation.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring service levels are met.
  • Track and report packaging performance metrics, including waste reduction and consumption trends.
  • Safeguard continuity of supply and oversee quality checks across packaging stock.
  • Stay informed on packaging innovations and introduce improvements that enhance sustainability and reduce costs.
  • Support packaging development projects, ensuring compliance with food safety, ethical, and environmental standards.
