Job description

At Medik8, we set ourselves apart from the competition, leading the skincare industry with innovation and technology at our core. We pride ourselves on producing some of the most advanced, science‑led skincare on the market, with sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

Based in our Innovation Centre in Aylesbury, as a Packaging Process Technologist you will be part of our driven R&D team and will work closely with different teams such as Supply Chain & Operations, Product Development and Marketing; by analysing and resolving any manufacturing issues, you will guarantee suit‑to‑purpose and efficient packaging solutions that will deliver all our products to the highest standards.

We have a long term pipeline of innovative product launches and ambitious targets for our sustainability footprint and are rapidly entering new territories across the globe, giving you the opportunity to take on new challenges across multiple projects.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the performance of existing packaging solutions; cradle to cradle. Including component manufacturing, packing/filling, logistics chain, sales/market, consumer experience and end of life.
  • Identify and prioritise potential packaging‑related inefficiencies. Develop and implement improvement plans, working closely with cross‑functional teams.
  • Co‑build accurate and relevant project timings, taking into account necessary resources and prioritisation for all parties.
  • Assess potential project risks and actively work to minimise risk, prior and during industrialisation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and data‑driven problem‑solving for packaging inefficiencies arising from customer complaints, supplier input and/or internal data.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely packaging improvements, aligned to agreed prioritisation and needs of the business. Including managing components industrialisation, component filling/packing trials and component/FG testing/evaluation.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of primary and secondary packaging materials—including polymer, glass, and paperboard.
  • Expertise in manufacturing processes, packing/filling environments, and advanced decoration techniques.
  • Hands‑on experience with packaging line optimisation, process capabilities, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Confident working cross‑functionally and with external manufacturing partners.
  • Detail‑oriented, process‑focused, and highly comfortable driving change within organisations.
  • Comfortable visiting manufacturing companies and building positive working relationships, especially within change management scenarios.
