Job description
SEND 1:1 Tutors - Full or Part Time

We are looking to provide 1:1 education to SEMH, ASC, Complex Needs and excluded pupils in schools, in the community or in their homes.

Our pupils range from early years foundation to post 16 with or without an EHC plan that have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including, but not limited to; SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Difficulties, Autism (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

JDS are looking to recruit Outreach Tutors to work in Essex.

Your will need to:
  • develop a good relationship with children and young people in order to support them effectively with their learning.
  • have an good understanding of SEND, be creative, dynamic and proactive and have strong behaviour management skills.
  • have excellent English and Maths skills.
  • ensure all lessons are prepared prior to each session.
  • submit weekly progress reports at the end of each week.

The aim of this service is to assist in re-integrating the pupil back into a specialist or mainstream educational provision.

The sessions may be delivered at various venues i.e. in the pupil's home, in community centres and/or local library.

These roles are ongoing, term-time only positions.
