Are you an enthusiastic and organised individual looking to make a real difference every day? Our welcoming Outpatients Department at Wexham Park Hospital is seeking a proactive Band 2 Receptionist to become a valued part of our friendly, multidisciplinary team.

In this key front-of-house role, you’ll be the first point of contact for our patients, helping us deliver a smooth, professional, and compassionate service. Previous administrative experience is essential, and you’ll also need the flexibility to work varied hours in line with service needs.

Main duties of the job
  • To greet every patient in a pleasant, professional and calm manner, directing the patient within the correct location within Outpatients.
  • Complying with their requests where possible and where it is not possible to deal with them with dignity and respect.
  • To encourage patients in a polite manner to use self-check in machines where applicable, assisting as appropriate.
  • To ensure that clinic outcomes, including attendance, DNA's and their pathway status are recorded.
  • To be responsible for ensuring at the end of each outpatient session all clinics are closed and all requested workorders are completed.
  • To adhere to the Trust values.
  • To assist with the collection of Friends and Family surveys.
  • To assist with changes to workflows with new I.T. systems when implemented.
  • To be able to prioritise and demonstrate good time management.To complete any administrative duties to a high standard as required, taking, recording and acting upon telephone messages and requests in a polite and helpful manner.
  • To ensure strict confidentiality is maintained at all times in respect of what is recorded on patient records.
  • To be adaptable and open to change.To be multi-skilled in your working role as you may be expected to work across all outpatient reception locations currently under the Outpatient Directorate.
