A local educational provision in England is seeking a motivated Outdoor Learning Support Assistant to work part-time with vulnerable children. Apex Outdoor Learning Support Assistant

Apex Meadows is a unique provision based in Cannington, providing education, support and therapeutic services to vulnerable students aged 5-16. With a small-holding, Forest School provision and access to both nearby local beaches and the Quantock Hills, we provide bespoke provision for the young people in our care.

Part time - 20.25 hours per week (6.75hrs Tues, Weds, Thurs), 39 weeks per year (Term-time plus Inset Days). Apex Meadows is part of The Bridgwater and Taunton College Trust (BTCT), an inclusive, forward-thinking organisation committed to ensuring Every Child Achieves. Apex Meadows is our new provision designed to provide individualised high-quality curriculum and intervention to meet the needs of students, as well as providing early group interventions.

Having only opened in January 2025, the successful candidate will be part of the newly established team based in this innovative offsite provision, working alongside our existing Apex sites and teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual who wants to make a difference to the lives of children and young people, working within a team which aims to support children reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will:
  • Help deliver activities to children across KS1-3
  • Be child-centred in their approach.
  • Have a flexible approach and be able to work effectively in a team
  • Be positive, inclusive and understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Be self‑motivated and able to use own initiative
  • Has a passion to work with and make a difference to the lives of children and young people.

Previous experience of working in a school and/or within SEND provision is desirable, but not essential.

Salary and Benefits
