Job description

The G4S Security Manager position is key in supporting security operations at SZC Orwell Logistics Park and Ransoms Bus Operations Centre in Ipswich. This includes managing security across Warehousing, Access Control, Offices, Postal and Consolidation Center (PCC), Freight Management Facility, and Bus Operating Center.

The Security Manager will oversee the daily operational command and control of the security team at these locations, ensuring optimal use of assets to maximize security influence and compliance with G4S SSUK standards and SZC policies.

This role will also deputize for the Security Operations Manager - Off Site Infrastructure (OSI), who is their line manager.

Your Role and Compensation

Hourly salary of GBP 22.14, approximately GBP 51,807 per year. Work hours are 45 per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required for early/late shifts, nights, and weekends to support operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Health & Safety is prioritized in service delivery.
  • Manage daily security operations, ensuring effective use of assets and compliance with standards.
  • Stabilize the workforce and develop staffing plans.
  • Ensure security personnel are trained, equipped, and available.
  • Coordinate with contractors, clients, and principal contractors for resource support.
  • Provide security resources for incident response and emergency support.
  • Review and update security instructions and ensure personnel compliance.
  • Participate in monthly business reviews and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Manage security team members according to HR policies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports.
  • Support associated sites operationally as needed.
  • Ensure welfare standards for security personnel.
  • Manage projects as required.
  • Work with Freight Management team for service delivery and compliance.
  • Manage PCC operations per PAS 97 standards.
  • Attend coordination meetings with stakeholders.
