Job summary

A healthcare provider in Greater Manchester is seeking an Orthopaedic Plaster Technician to provide essential support in the plaster room and Trauma & Orthopaedic clinics. Candidates must hold the British Orthopaedic Association Plaster Certificate and demonstrate proficiency in casting techniques with a commitment to patient care. This role requires flexibility in working hours and an ability to work unsupervised. The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to providing high standards of care and enhancing community health.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Orthopaedic Technician or Nursing Associate with casting certificate.
  • Experience within a plaster room environment.
  • Knowledge of incident reporting and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to patients/carers regarding plaster care.
  • Ensure practice in casting techniques is evidence-based.
  • Support and supervise clinic staff working within the Plaster Room.

Skills

Ability to work unsupervised
Ability to work in demanding situations and to deadlines
Wound care skills

Education

Association of Orthopaedic Technicians Casting Certificate / British Casting Certificate
Additional related study or willingness to undertake relevant further study or training
