Qualifications

  • Must have evidence of a special interest in geriatric medicine.
  • Competence to work without direct supervision where appropriate.
  • Previous experience in geriatric medicine is required.
  • Involvement in service improvement associated with audit and QIP.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily ward rounds of patients over 60 with specified fractures.
  • Work with anaesthetic teams for optimizing complex patients.
  • Available to confer with patients' relatives discussing care options.
  • Active role in clinical audit, teaching, and service development.

Skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to evaluate own practice
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to Continuing Medical Education

Education

MB, BS or equivalent
Eligible for full GMC Registration
Foundation training (or FY2 equivalent if overseas applicant)
