Organisational Development & Leadership Advisor

Contract : Permanent

Your role

This role offers the chance to shape organisational development and leadership across Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, working on impactful projects that drive real change and improvement. The role combines meaningful collaboration, professional growth, and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in a dynamic, supportive environment. You will play a key role in the delivery of the team and wider objectives through a variety of tasks such as:

  • Supporting the design, delivery, and evaluation of Organisational Development (OD) activities, including leadership development, employee engagement, and team development initiatives.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and external partners to deliver impactful projects that drive performance and service improvement.
  • Coordinating leadership and management training, ensuring people management skills are embedded throughout the organisation.
  • Foster an inclusive and diverse workforce, coordinating OD approaches that champion equality and diversity at all levels.
  • Maintaining and enhancing data management systems to support delivery and provide robust evidence for OD and Leadership services.
  • Delivering excellent customer service as the front face of the OD & Leadership Team, creating a positive and supportive environment for staff and partners.

Our hybrid working policy sets out a flexible approach, combining attendance at our [Manchester city centre office / Fire and Rescue service HQ in Swinton / other location] with remote working, typically from home; the location of work is primarily dictated by the needs of the business : ‘Do what is right for you and the business on that day’.
