Operational Team Manager – Underwriting

A bit about the job:

You’ll lead a team of around 20 people within GI Distribution & SME – Commercial. Working alongside another Underwriting Team Manager and Senior Underwriters, you’ll be accountable for operational performance, resource management, governance, and engagement. Your focus will be on ensuring work allocation, training, and digital adoption to optimise efficiency and effectiveness, while supporting visibility and responsiveness in the market.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • Excellent communication, listening, time management, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyse risks and present effectively to brokers and/or customers
  • Good knowledge of FCA and relevant regulation and legislation
  • Strong commercial acumen to create and deliver business cases
  • Previous commercial underwriting experience is an advantage
