Operational Lead

Job Title: Operational Lead
Location: European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, 5 Bank Street, Canary Wharf, London E14 4BG
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
Salary: £57,000 per annum

About the Role

Equans is seeking an experienced Operational Lead to provide all round engineering and technical support across a high profile corporate environment. This role is key to maintaining building infrastructure, ensuring compliance with all relevant building services standards and supporting the Shift Teams, Technical Supervisor and Account Manager. You will help plan engineering works, support moves and changes and ensure a professional approach to quality, safety and operational excellence. Maintaining 100 percent uptime and strong response standards is central to this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and operational support, ensuring safe and efficient building service performance
  • Plan and coordinate scheduled maintenance, repairs and engineering activities
  • Support shift and day teams, including workplace technicians and fabric teams
  • Ensure high standards of response to plant failures and abnormal conditions
  • Oversee and coordinate third party contractors, ensuring compliance with site procedures
  • Assist in producing method statements, risk assessments and statutory inspection planning
  • Maintain awareness of site contingency procedures and support emergency responses
  • Complete administrative tasks accurately and promptly, including reporting via AIMS
  • Support the Account Manager with cost effective planning and contract delivery
  • Lead small works planning, including moves and changes and fabric projects
  • Promote strong SHEQ performance and uphold all Equans policies and standards
Required Experience and Skills
  • Completed apprenticeship with strong trade qualifications and extensive building services experience
  • LV Authorised
  • C&G 236 Parts 1 and 2 or mechanical equivalent
  • 18th Edition qualification
  • Strong understanding of building services systems including BMS, HVAC, water systems, fire systems and electrical equipment
  • Ability to diagnose faults and recommend effective solutions
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Reliable, confident and capable of working independently and leading others
Desirable Experience and Skills
  • Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and support budgetary control
  • Knowledge of safe systems of work, statutory compliance and engineering planning
  • Exposure to complex corporate or critical environments
