Qualifications

  • HCPC registration is essential for this role.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience.
  • Recent UK experience within the last 3 years is required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely prepare, check, and assemble equipment for operations.
  • Organise the clinical area for patient reception.
  • Support patients and families, conveying clinical information.
  • Contribute to patient care development within operating theatres.
  • Demonstrate clinical assessment skills for surgical procedures.

Job description

Client Name: Southend University Hospital

Role: Operating Department Practitioner

Rates: £16.48 - £18.47 per hour

Shifts: Available Monday to Friday 08:00-18:00

Key Responsibilities
  • To safely identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
  • Prepare and organise the clinical area to receive patients for elective, emergency, and trauma procedures.
  • Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information using various methods to ensure effective understanding.
  • Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres, e.g. through sharing knowledge and expertise as required.
  • Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and prioritise the care for patients undergoing a surgical / anaesthetic procedure.
Essential Qualifications
  • Current HCPC registration
  • At least 1 years' post-graduate experience.
  • 6 months recent UK experience within the last 3 years
