Are you great with people, very organized, and passionate about patient care? Our Oncology Service is looking for a motivated friendly and confident individual with experience of working within a very busy and fast-paced patient facing environment to come and join our team.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is an Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) and one of the largest Trusts in the country. Our mission is to provide world class healthcare for our patients, through excellence in research, education and training.

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic administrator to join our Oncology Administration team to provide full administrative support including a reception service for our chemotherapy day unit. The post holder will be expected to organise and prioritise their own workload and to work closely with clinical colleagues in order to ensure the continuity of service for our patients at all times.

This is a great opportunity for an excellent administrator to develop and learn within a complex, fast-paced environment. You will have excellent team working, interpersonal and communication skills with the vision and enthusiasm to continually develop both yourself and the service.

This post is for 22.5 hours a week. Wednesday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 (with at least one day of working late shift of 10:30 - 18:30).

Main duties of the job
  • Greet patients and visitors to the unit in a professional manner and in accordance with CPG and Trust policy.
  • Book and cancel follow up appointments including blood test.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems.
  • Book and cancel patient transport for future appointments on demand.
  • Book and cancel patient interpreters for future appointments where necessary.
  • Cancel patients off Cerner and Aria upon clinical request and patient's notification.
  • Handle all paperwork associated with reception duties.
  • Contact patients and inform about 'Maggie's seminars and conduct an audit.
  • Patient pathway ensuring TCI's are recorded on the system and cancelling appointments on Cerner.
  • Ensuring patients TCI are on the system and updating any missing TCI's.
  • Booking chemotherapy appointments, rescheduling patients' appointments.
  • Any other administrative duties relating to role.
