What you will do
  • Manage a caseload of complex cases, addressing multiple physical, cognitive, and environmental challenges.
  • Conduct in-depth home visits for functional needs assessments, environmental risk evaluations, and adaptation suitability checks.
  • Complete comprehensive manual handling assessments, including risk and safe handling plans utilizing hoists, slings, and transfer aids.
  • Prescribe and oversee significant adaptations such as level access showers, stairlifts, ramps, and through-floor lifts in coordination with housing and DFG teams.
  • Provide clinical reasoning for high-cost equipment and structural changes, ensuring legal and best-practice compliance.
  • Liaise with contractors, surveyors, and housing officers to ensure safe and effective service delivery for clients.
  • Support hospital discharge planning and avoidance, facilitating timely provision of essential equipment and adaptations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, contributing to legal reports, safeguarding inquiries, and funding panels.
  • Deliver supervision and peer support to junior staff, promoting safe manual handling practices.
  • Act as the primary contact for service users during the adaptation process, offering advice, advocacy, and support.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies and internal teams for coordinated service delivery.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • Recent UK experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Recent NHS experience.
  • Registered with the HCPC.
