Job description

As an Occupational Therapist, join the supportive team at Bromley Road in London—a rehabilitation service for men and women with enduring mental health issues. You will work alongside the Occupational Therapy team as maternity cover from 1st August 2025 to 31st July 2026. You will have experience managing a designated caseload and be responsible for completing assessments, planning therapeutic sessions, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to service users care plans. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you’ll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and access to a variety of training courses to support your career goals.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a flexible programme of OT groups and individual interventions.
  • Plan and implement interventions and therapeutic activities.
  • Evaluate outcomes aligned to care plans.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants.
  • Deliver positive support and risk‑reduction strategies in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Provide opportunities for social inclusion and skill development for independent living.
  • Communicate with families and support networks as part of a values‑led staff team.
Qualifications
  • Current HPC registration and full BOAT membership with evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Knowledge and use of a range of OT assessments and outcome measures.
  • Experience working within a similar setting.
  • BSc (Hons) or equivalent occupational therapy qualification.
  • Minimum of 1 year post‑qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience with service users with forensic history or detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, amended 2007.
  • All candidates will be subject to a DBS disclosure.
