Job Overview

Hours will be 24 hours a week nursing and 16 hours Supernumerary for administration duties.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our care home team specialising in senior care. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the management team to deliver high‑quality care services, ensuring the well‑being and safety of residents, particularly those requiring dementia and Alzheimer's care. Duties
  • Assist the management team in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Supervise and support care staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
  • Contribute to the development and review of personalised care plans tailored to individual resident needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
  • Administer medication in accordance with prescribed protocols, maintaining accurate records.
  • Support residents with daily activities, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Monitor the delivery of nursing and personal care, ensuring it meets high standards of quality and safety.
  • Lead staff training sessions on topics such as dementia care, medication administration, and emergency procedures.
  • Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate effective care delivery.
  • Assist in managing staffing rotas, recruitment processes, and performance appraisals.
Experience
  • Proven experience working within a nursing home environments specialising in senior or dementia care.
  • Demonstrable supervisory or management experience within a care home setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Care Act regulations and CQC standards.
  • Experience in developing and implementing personalised care plans for residents with complex needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team of care professionals.
  • Familiarity with medication administration procedures and health & safety protocols in a residential setting.
  • Previous exposure to home care services is desirable but not essential.
