Job summary

A childcare facility in Wigan is seeking a Nursery Room Supervisor for a full-time position. The role involves supporting and delivering the EYFS curriculum while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for young children. Candidates must have a minimum Level 3 Diploma in Early Years and ideally possess 2 years of childcare experience. Qualifications

Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Early Years or equivalent.
At least 2 years experience in childcare is preferred.
Paediatric First Aid Certification and Child Protection training are preferred.

Nursery Room Supervisor

Full Time Position (Mon to Fri, 40-45 Hours per week)

Overview of Job Role

To be a proactive practitioner who supports and delivers confidently the EYFS. Provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment in which babies and young children are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential. Offer full and practical support in the day‑to‑day running of the nursery. Be flexible to the needs of the business.

Must have a minimum Early Years qualification of a Level 3 Diploma, equivalent or higher to apply for this position. Flexible to work between 7am – 6pm, Monday – Friday.

Responsibility / Duties

Support and deliver the EYFS curriculum.
Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for children.
Assist with day‑to‑day nursery operations.
Show flexibility to cover shifts and adapt to business needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Early Years or equivalent.
At least 2 years experience in childcare (preferred).
Cache Level 3 in Childcare (preferred).
Paediatric First Aid Certification (preferred).
Child Protection training (preferred).

Interview Process

The interview is led by our nursery manager and supported by a senior member of the team. We will ask you questions on the following areas:

Your history and experience in childcare
SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
Your training and qualification(s)
Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS (primary & specific areas)
Safeguarding and Child Protection. Procedure in dealing with ‘what to do if you are worried a child has been abused’
