Qualifications

Job description
Room Leader (Senior Nursery Practitioner)

We are seeking experienced Room Leaders to join a large, well‑organised Early Years setting in South East London. This role is ideal for a confident Senior Practitioner or an existing Room Leader looking for a supportive setting with real opportunities for progression.

The nursery has a strong team culture, values staff wellbeing and promotes from within wherever possible.

The role

As Room Leader, you will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of your room while leading and supporting a small team to deliver outstanding childcare and education.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading practice within the room
  • Supporting and mentoring team members
  • Planning and overseeing EYFS‑led activities
  • Monitoring observations, assessments and development records
  • Building positive relationships with parents and carers
  • Maintaining safeguarding and health and safety standards
Hours

37 hours per week – 7:45am to 6:00pm across four days

Salary

£26,378 – £29,672 per year (salary dependent on experience)

Holiday entitlement

6.5 weeks holiday per year inclusive of bank holidays
