Requirements

Job Requirements / Description:

  • Essential:
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)
  • Understanding of the EYFS and child development
  • Experience working with children aged 0-5 years
  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Desirable:
  • Paediatric First Aid certification
  • DBS or we will provide one
  • Knowledge of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
  • Experience using online learning journals (e.g., Tapestry)
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of activities that meet the EYFS framework and reflect children’s interests and developmental needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress through observations and assessments.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care, following safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Promote positive behaviour and model appropriate interactions with children.
  • Create a warm, welcoming environment that supports children’s physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external agencies to support children’s individual needs.
  • Carry out daily routines including nappy changing, toileting, mealtimes, and sleep supervision.
  • Ensure all health and safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are upheld in the setting.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Contribute to maintaining a well-organised, inclusive, and positive team environment.
