Nursery Practitioner - Responsibilities

As a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and stimulating learning opportunities for children aged 0 5 years. Your duties will include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
  • Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment where children feel secure and inspired.
  • Supporting children s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Completing observations, assessments, and contributing to individual learning journeys to track and support each child s progress.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high-quality care and effective communication within the team.
  • Building strong, professional relationships with parents and carers, offering feedback and reassurance.
  • Ensuring all safeguarding, welfare, and health & safety procedures are strictly followed.
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with nursery policies and statutory requirements.
  • Contributing ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm to help continually improve practice and provision.
Nursery Practitioner - About You

We are looking for a confident, caring, and passionate individual who is committed to providing the highest standards of early years care. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (essential).
  • A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Experience working in a nursery or early years setting (desirable, not essential).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with children, families, and colleagues.
  • A warm, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children s development.
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety practices.
  • Strong organisational and teamwork skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one before starting.
