Role
Join a thriving nursery team dedicated to creating a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. As a valued Nursery Manager you’ll support children aged 0-5 years, planning exciting activities, promoting learning through play, and ensuring every child feels supported and valued. The salary is around £35k per year based on 35-40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management: Provide professional leadership and management of the nursery's day-to-day operations.
- Staff Development: Lead, train, and mentor staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- Recruitment & Retention: Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality nursery staff.
- Childcare & Education: Ensure the delivery of high-quality care and learning experiences for children aged 0-5 years.
- Curriculum & EYFS: Develop and implement an engaging curriculum that meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Learning Environment: Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that promotes children's learning and development.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the nursery meets all legal and statutory requirements for health, safety, and child protection.
- Safeguarding & Emergency Procedures: Implement and enforce robust safeguarding procedures and policies; oversee fire drills and ensure all emergency procedures are in place and followed.
- Administrative & Financial Duties: Manage nursery budgets and monitor financial forecasting; keep accurate records and create regular reports for internal and external stakeholders; oversee the ordering and maintenance of nursery resources and equipment.
- Parent & Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with parents and carers; communicate children's progress and provide support to families; collaborate with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and other professionals.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Previous leadership or management experience.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce qualification.
- Paediatric First Aid certification.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.
