Job description

Position Overview

Little Wonders Day Nursery is currently recruiting for a Level 3 or higher qualified Deputy Manager to join our friendly team at the Penryn Campus. This full‑time, permanent role offers opportunities for further training and career development. The Deputy Manager supports the nursery Manager and may lead in their absence, working within rooms, supporting staff and building relationships with children and parents.

Responsibilities

Working to create stimulating learning environments for all ages, producing weekly rotas and registers, supporting staff development, engaging directly with children, adhering to safeguarding policies and ensuring appropriate ratios throughout the nursery.

Qualifications

• A relevant Level 3 qualification and up‑to‑date knowledge of Early Years provision.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Confidence to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the nursery.
• Awareness of the need for handling confidential issues sensitively.
• Clear communication with children, parents and staff.
• Ability to keep formal records and write formal reports.
