Overview
Les Chatons, The French Nursery School, is an Ofsted-registered bilingual nursery in Kensington (W8), London. We are looking for a passionate and caring Early Years Practitioner (Level 2 qualified) to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to study towards their Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a supportive nursery environment. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, supporting children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS, while completing your training towards Level 3.
Main Duties
- Planning and carrying out activities in line with the EYFS, including long-, medium- and short-term plans to support children’s learning and development.
- Motivating and stimulating children’s learning abilities, encouraging learning through first-hand experiences.
- Organising learning materials and resources.
- Working with the teaching team to plan and coordinate indoor and outdoor activities.
- Recording observations, assessing progress, and summarising each child’s achievements.
- Providing feedback to parents/carers on their child’s progress during meetings and informal discussions.
- Liaising with teachers, welfare officers, health visitors, and other professionals as needed.
- Contributing to the overall ethos, aims, and policies of the nursery.
- Ensuring all children have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- Participating in training, professional development, and appraisal processes.
What we’re looking for
- Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or equivalent).
- Fluent French, Spanish, or English speaker (native or C2 level).
- Positive, caring attitude with commitment to safeguarding.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- The right to work in the UK.
Hours & Pay
- Hours: Full-time or part-time, Monday to Friday
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
- Start Date: Immediate / September 2025
- Shifts are scheduled between 7:30am and 6:30pm, usually on a rota basis, with exact hours agreed in advance.
