A leading healthcare provider in England is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Acute Surgical Unit. The successful candidate will have post-registration experience in a surgical environment, excellent communication skills, and strong leadership capabilities. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the team on the Acute Surgical Unit.
The ideal candidates should have post registration experience ideally in a surgical environment, be motivated and enthusiastic, possess excellent communication skills, be a team player and wish to consolidate/develop their surgical skills as well as others skills.
The SURG SDEC (Surgical same day emergency care) / Acute Surgical Unit is a fast-paced unit that sees a variety of patients including direct admissions from the Urgent Emergency Care Centre (UECC) and GP referrals. You need to have experience in prioritising your workload to include excellent staff management and first class patient care from admission through to timely and safe discharge planning.

Provide good strong leadership to the team on acute surgical unit/SURGSDEC.Support the delivery of high standard of safe care to patients on the emergency general surgical pathway.
Work clinically and take charge of the Ward/SURGSDEC.
Demonstrate good time management and organisational skills.
Work collaboratively with members of the wider MDT to ensure appropriate plans of care are delivered to support early discharge.
Complete ward audits to measure standards and share learning within the team.
Work with the ward manager to introduce service improvement ideas to drive change forward.
Act up in the absence of ward manager.
Create a learning environment to support all staff development and a safe and welcoming learning environment for new starters and student nurses.
Coach all levels of staff.
Report and investigate incidents.
Manage concerns & complaints.
Roster management.
