Job description

Capex Recruitment are working in partnership with a manufacturing firm based in Ballynahinch on the appointment of an NPI Engineer.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the management, control, and coordination of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from the quoting phase through to product realisation, ensuring a seamless transfer of the project into production while meeting deadlines, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities in your new role:
  • Project Management: Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Manufacturing Data Conversion: Translate customer drawings and specifications into manufacturing data.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Creation: Develop bills of materials and product structures for manufacturing.
  • Process Documentation: Create operator build instructions and process documentation for production teams.
  • Process Optimisation: Assign process times and select the most efficient manufacturing processes to maximise productivity.
  • Customisation and Technical Support: Provide technical support for customisations of existing product designs and build-to-print products.
  • Hands-on Support: Offer practical support in model and pre-production builds as required by the business.
  • Record Maintenance: Ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping of project and production data.
  • Contract Review: Participate in contract reviews, addressing all NPI engineering and commercial considerations.
  • Engineering Change Management: Coordinate and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) on active production lines.
  • ISO Compliance: Ensure all documentation aligns with the requirements of ISO 9001 standards
What you will need to succeed:
  • A minimum of 5 years\' experience in an engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical assemblies and a solid understanding of associated manufacturing processes.
  • Proven project management experience.
