Job summary

A community-focused non-profit organization is recruiting a Finance Manager to oversee financial activities and ensure robust systems compliance. The role requires experience in financial oversight and team leadership, with responsibilities including managing budgets, cash flow forecasting, and liaising with auditors. Candidates should have strong Excel skills and knowledge of Xero is desirable. This is a full-time position based in Sunderland.

Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel is required.
  • Experience in finance management is crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare annual budgets.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and provide financial guidance.
  • Manage day-to-day finance processes.
  • Maintain and develop accounting software and purchase order systems.
  • Administer company credit card programme and oversee bank relationships.
  • Lead cash flow forecasting and supplier payments.
  • Maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and vendors.
  • Support funding applications and grant reporting.
  • Liaise with external payroll providers and oversee monthly payroll.
  • Support salary budgeting and staff cost analysis.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for year-end accounts.
  • Manage statutory filings including HMRC and Companies House.
  • Oversee VAT returns, Gift Aid claims, and tax reliefs.
