Job description

You will be reporting to a Higher Executive Officer (HEO), plan and undertake a programme of tasks, working both independently and as part of a team.

Duties under HEO direction:
  • Contingency and rapid responses, in the event of findings of non‑established NNS or controlling established NNS in the wider environment.
  • Investigating escapes and deliberate releases of NNS, and assisting with their re‑capture.
  • Assisting with inspections on a range of premises.
  • Educating others on the impact of INNS and the importance of biosecurity, including their legal responsibilities.
  • Collecting high quality data in order to assess the risk posed by different pathways and levels of compliance.
  • Writing reports.
  • Attending events to promote NNSI and our objectives.
  • Liaising with specialists, including diagnostic services and other experts where necessary.
  • Other appropriate tasks as required by management.

The role will involve the control of NNS which includes capture and re‑homing or euthanasia, and in some cases the use of firearms.
