The Somerset Adult ADHD Service is seeking a Band 7 Non-Medical Prescriber to join our compassionate, forward‑thinking, and values‑driven team. We are a county-wide service dedicated to delivering high-quality ADHD assessments and treatment for adults in Somerset who have not yet received a diagnosis. In this role, you will:

In this role, you will:
  • Conduct ADHD assessments and provide pharmacological treatments
  • Prescribe 'off-label' and controlled drugs as an independent prescriber
  • Lead quality improvement projects as our service evolves

Nurses with RN qualification: in order to carry out ADHD assessments, it's essential to have broad experience in adult psychiatry. The ability to assess differential diagnoses is a critical part of the role. If you feel you can demonstrate you have transferable skills, we welcome your application.

Your duties will include:
  • Deliver ADHD assessments and provide pharmacological interventions, including prescribing controlled and off‑label medications.
  • Triage referrals and perform comprehensive case note reviews.
  • Act as a clinical expert and independent prescriber within a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Hold a clinical caseload and maintain high standards of care and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Use your advanced knowledge to contribute to treatment plans, risk assessments, and patient reviews.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with service users, families, carers, GPs, and colleagues.
  • Lead and participate in service development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits.
  • Provide clinical supervision, support and training to other professionals.
  • Promote mental health education and help develop non-pharmacological treatment pathways.
