Job summary

A leading aircraft maintenance company in Biggin Hill is seeking a Nightshift B1/B2 Licensed Engineer. This role involves performing and documenting maintenance tasks on customer aircraft while ensuring compliance with all regulations. The ideal candidate will hold a UK CAA & EASA Part 66 license and be type-rated on relevant Bombardier aircraft. Successful applicants should demonstrate proficiency with tools and the ability to supervise maintenance tasks effectively.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of recent relevant maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of Part-M, Part-145 regulations.

Responsibilities

Job description

Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. The facility has the capabilities to perform an array of maintenance checks, modifications and upgrades all from this site. Only 14 miles from London, Bombardier’s Biggin Hill Service Centre is ideally located to support operators in the UK region and beyond.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, inspects and performs maintenance on customer aircraft.
  • Performs and documents all work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
  • Be able to train, coach and support other employees.
  • Perform complete engine runs as required.
  • Perform complex repairs on aircraft systems.
  • Supervise Mechanics when carrying out maintenance tasks, and determine that relevant tasks or inspections have been carried out to the required standard.
  • Release maintenance tasks that are performed by him-/herself or under his supervision for which he/she is trained and authorized.
  • Sign off base maintenance tasks that are performed by him-/herself or under his/her supervision, in support of Certifying Staff Category C.
  • Perform maintenance at off-site locations.
  • Assist when providing time estimates.
How to thrive in this role?
  • You hold a UK CAA & EASA Part 66 Aircraft Technician License: B1 and/or B2 and/or C.
  • You are type‑rated on relevant Bombardier Business Aircraft Type including Challenger 300’s, Challenger 600’s and Global or other aircraft.
  • You have up to date basic knowledge requirements of Appendix I to Part‑66.
  • You have basic knowledge of Part‑M, Part‑145 and any other relevant regulations.
  • Have been involved in at least 6 months of actual relevant aircraft or component maintenance experience in any consecutive 2‑year period.
  • Have knowledge on, and practice of, human factors, human performance and limitations.
  • Have knowledge on EWIS and CDCCL when relevant.
  • You have experience working during last two years on at least one aircraft type for each license (sub)category.
  • Be current on all training requirements (recurrent/continuation training).
  • Have the ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings.
  • Be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual task and / or aircraft status.
  • Be highly proficient in using standard tools, special tools and operate ground support equipment.
  • Have the ability to work in accordance with the maintenance data and to notify the function responsible of defects or mistakes requiring rectification to re-establish required maintenance standards.
  • Have the ability to use information systems (computer skills).
