Night Transport Operations Controller

We are currently looking for two detail-oriented and proactive Night Transport Operations Controllers to join our team and ensure seamless operations during the night shift.

Shift Pattern

4 on, 4 off, 19:00 to 07:00.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the night shift activities for the transport and warehouse departments, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
• Supervise night shift staff, including warehouse operatives, drivers, and any other personnel, ensuring they are fully trained and compliant with company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate the movement of goods, deliveries, and pickups, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch of shipments in line with customer requirements.
• Act as the first point of contact for any operational issues or emergencies that arise during the night shift, taking immediate action to resolve problems.
• Monitor the fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are operating effectively and safely.
• Report any vehicle issues or accidents to the relevant departments and ensure quick resolutions.
• Track and assess the performance of night operations using KPIs, identifying any potential inefficiencies and proposing solutions.
• Ensure that all activities during the night shift adhere to health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Provide detailed and accurate reports on night shift operations, performance, and any incidents to senior management, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers as needed to address any issues related to deliveries, service disruptions, or changes in schedules.
• Maintain Security: Ensure the security of goods, vehicles, and the premises during night operations, including monitoring security systems and managing any security incidents.

Key Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or transport management, preferably in a night shift or operations controller role.
• Proficient in using logistics software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of transport, warehouse, and logistics operations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and solve problems quickly.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with staff, customers, and management.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Flexibility and a strong sense of responsibility, with a keen eye for detail.
