Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a calm and compassionate Night Support Worker for a temporary position. This role involves providing waking overnight support across multiple locations, ensuring safety, and offering emotional backing to residents. The ideal candidate should have experience with adults facing mental health challenges and possess strong communication skills. This position offers 40 hours per week, with an immediate start expected, and pays £15.52 per hour.

Night Support Worker (Temporary - 1-2 Months)

We are seeking a calm, reliable and compassionate Night Support Worker to provide waking overnight cover across an office base and four supported houses.

Hours:

40 hours per week, rota-based (Monday-Sunday)

Shifts:

10:00pm - 8:00am

Pay:

£15.52 per hour (£13.85 + £1.67 holiday pay)

Duration:

Temporary cover for approximately 1-2 months

About the Role:

Working independently overnight, you will be the first point of contact for residents, providing reassurance, emotional support and practical guidance. You will ensure the safety and security of the buildings, respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies, liaise with emergency services when required, and maintain accurate overnight records for effective handovers to day staff.

About You:

You will have experience supporting adults with long-term mental health needs, an understanding of psychologically informed and strengths-based approaches, and the ability to remain calm and reassuring in challenging situations. Strong communication, sound judgement, and confidence in lone working are essential.

Interviews will take place shortly, with an immediate start expected.
