Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of patient care including assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care with indirect supervision from senior staff.
  • Support Charge Nurse/Senior Sister to monitor the safety and quality of care for patients.
  • Liaise with key members of the multi‑disciplinary team and service users related to the speciality.
  • Undertake unsupervised assessment of patient care needs and develop, implement and evaluate plans of care, ensuring high standards of evidence‑based care.
  • Undertake all nursing procedures in accordance with Trust policies and ensure that these procedures and policies are understood and adhered to by all staff, within own management responsibility.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records using appropriate written and electronic documentation.
  • Monitor and record planned vs actual staffing levels and escalate issues when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or newly qualified RN.
  • Awaiting or confirmed NMC registration.
  • Willing to undertake a 12‑month preceptorship programme.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player with a patient‑centred approach.
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills.
