JOB TITLE

Network Architect

SALARY

Up to £72K plus 10% on target bonus

THE BUSINESS

C4S Search are working with a growing organisation that delivers world-class, customer-focused network solutions across a wide range of environments, from bespoke designs to large enterprise-scale deployments.

You’ll be joining a customer-facing network engineering team with full responsibility for the design, implementation and ongoing support of secure, resilient, high-performance IP networks that play a critical role in protecting the society in which we live.

This is an opportunity to take a leading technical role while continuing to develop your skills, particularly as the team transitions towards software-defined and cloud-based networking approaches.

You will be required to be eligible for DV Clearance for this opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the creation of high-level and low-level network designs for complex IP network solutions
  • Take a hands-on role in the implementation of network solutions using vendor technologies such as Cisco
  • Work directly with customers to understand requirements and translate these into effective technical designs
  • Collaborate with support teams to ensure deployed solutions are manageable and fully supportable
  • Provide third-line support for complex network issues when required
  • Support wider project teams by setting technical direction and providing guidance throughout delivery
KEY SKILLS
  • Proven experience designing, building and providing third-line support for complex IP networks that are secure, scalable, resilient and high-performing
  • Strong capability in setting the technical direction for complex or large-scale network solutions
  • Experience producing both high-level and low-level network designs
  • Knowledge of network security design, potentially including firewalls, IDS and IPS
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with enterprise or operator-scale routing design using protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, LDP or RSVP
  • Exposure to automation and Software Defined Networking approaches (e.g. Cisco DNAC, Ansible) – not essential, training will be supported
  • Experience managing and engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP Routing & Switching (desirable but not essential; hands-on experience is prioritised)
