CNC Nesting Engineer
Purpose of Role: To create nests for the Trumpf CNC Punching and TruBend centre machines using BOOST (Trumpf) nesting software and RADAN nesting software. Maximising material usage and minimising waste while ensuring that the production process is efficient and cost‑effective.
Responsibilities
- Operate RADAN & BOOST nesting software, ensuring cutting tools, machines, and other equipment are correctly configured for the nesting process, often working closely with CNC operators or machine programmers.
- Interpret drawings and technical information.
- Collaborate with other teams.
- Drive continuous improvement of products and processes.
- Ensure adherence to quality procedures and health and safety protocols.
- Improve production efficiency.
- Adhere to safety standards.
- Demonstrate leadership by consistently upholding and modelling the highest standards of safety, quality, and workplace behaviour.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties or tasks as requested by the Senior Leadership Team to support operational needs and business objectives.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with nesting software and cutting machine technology.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of material properties, cutting techniques, and manufacturing processes.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments.
- Understanding of SolidWorks files.
- Understanding of Trumpf machines is an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent time‑management ability & detail focus.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks through to completion.
- Flexible approach.
- Understanding of sheet‑metal fabrication machinery and production.
- Experience with Trumpf or similar punch machinery programming.
- Punch/fold machine experience.
- Ideally experienced in door manufacturing.
- Ideally familiar with modern manufacturing processes and total quality improvement.
Location: Newcastle‑under‑Lyme. Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (DOE). Full‑time, permanent. Reporting to: Manufacturing Coordinator. Working days: Monday – Friday.
