Job summary

Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join our Neonatal Team.

We are a 24-cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, level 3, within the Cheshire and Mersey Neonatal Network. Providing care for infants and their families from 22 weeks and above.

Applications are invited from motivated Registered Nurses / Midwives with a Neonatal Qualification or willing to undertake Speciality training that wish to work in this highly rewarding area of Nursing.

This exposure will provide the successful applicant with a wealth of Neonatal Nursing experience working with a highly skilled motivated team.

You will be actively encouraged to participate and contribute to the development of the Neonatal Service.

  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a defined group of patients for whom you are responsible, under the guidance of senior staff.
  • To participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in developing and maintaining a system of family centred care.
  • To advise on the promotion of health, recognising the physical, emotional, and social situations that may influence the needs of the mother, baby, and family.
  • To take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the babies and their families.
  • Where responsible for the custody and administration of drugs, to carry this out according to Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • To participate in Clinical Supervision.
  • To participate in effective communication with all staff in matters affecting patient care.
  • To provide accurate verbal or written information relating the patient care to other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To be committed to the communication strategy.
