This is a senior, strategic sales leadership role with one of the UK’s most respected names in high‑security entrance and access control solutions. You will play a pivotal role in driving national growth, securing major projects and strengthening the business’s position across key verticals including Government, Defence, Critical National Infrastructure, Corporate HQs, Data Centres and high‑sensitivity environments.

The National Sales Manager is responsible for leading and developing the sales function, influencing specifications, securing new product orders and ensuring revenue, margin and product‑mix objectives are consistently exceeded. This position demands a blend of technical credibility, commercial strength, leadership capability and the ability to engage at senior level across complex stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Growth
  • Own and exceed national revenue, profitability and product‑mix objectives
  • Secure major project orders across multiple verticals
  • Personally manage key strategic accounts and support the team on critical opportunities
  • Build and nurture relationships with architects, security consultants, integrators, main contractors and government stakeholders
  • Influence specifications and guide complex projects from concept through to delivery
  • Identify new business opportunities, lead engagement strategies, and drive national demand generation
  • Develop and execute sector‑specific growth, marketing and outreach strategies
Team Leadership & Performance Management
  • Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing national sales team
  • Deliver weekly 1‑to‑1s, pipeline reviews and consistent performance reporting
  • Chair structured team sales meetings to maintain focus, clarity and momentum
  • Recruit, onboard and upskill sales talent as required
  • Support the Commercial Director with territory planning, objective setting and resource deployment
  • Foster a culture of collaboration between sales, operations, marketing and wider business units
Commercial & Operational Excellence
  • Maintain strong commercial discipline and safeguard margin performance
  • Understand contractual frameworks (NEC, JCT etc.) to identify, mitigate and manage risk
  • Produce accurate sales forecasts, reports and order intake projections
  • Ensure pipeline, CRM and reporting data is complete, accurate and real‑time
  • Lead cross‑business collaboration to ensure smooth project handovers and delivery execution
  • Represent the business at industry events, security expos, CPDs and trade shows nationally
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven track record in technical B2B solution / project sales
  • Background in security products, entrance control, access control, fire / doors, M&E, building systems or similar technical sectors
  • Strong specification sales experience with architects, consultants and system integrators
  • Experience selling into Government agencies (highly advantageous)
  • Leadership experience across regions / sectors within a matrix team environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement at senior and strategic levels
  • Able to travel nationally on a frequent basis
Security Clearance Requirement
  • Must be eligible for SC clearance – non‑negotiable
  • DV clearance preferable (Typically requires British Citizenship and 5+ years UK residency speelgoed
