As a National Account Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with the buying and marketing teams for Children’s Wholly Owned and Andrews McMeel Kid’s lists to Target, Costco, BJs and Sam’s Club.

Your role will be pivotal in managing inventory needs, coordinating closely with S&S Supply Chain teams, and working in tandem with internal Readerlink representatives to ensure accurate forecasting and system updates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Management:
    Develop and sustain productive relationships with key accounts including Target, Costco, BJs and Sam’s Club.
  • Inventory & Forecasting:
    Manage title-level inventory needs by working with the S&S Supply Chain and Readerlink reps. Ensure accurate estimate tracking and maintenance in the system.
  • Promotions & COOP Pools:
    Maintain COOP pools and identify promotional opportunities across Target and the Club accounts to maximize visibility and sell-through.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    Act as a liaison between accounts and internal stakeholders, providing feedback and status updates to publishing and sales management.
  • Meeting Participation:
    • Weekly marketing meetings
    • Monthly focus title meetings
    • Seasonal sales conferences and launch meetings
    • Monthly sell-ins (in person and via Zoom)
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of prior sales experience within the publishing industry is required. Readerlink and Target or Club experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills needed with the ability to effectively communicate with varied personalities at the account as well as all levels of management and publishers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage many projects simultaneously while attending to details and deadlines are a must.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Edelweiss.
  • Forward thinking, energetic, problem-solver with focused relationship building skills.
