Overview

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to advertise a clinical fellow role aimed at doctors who are passionate about their practice and their career but who want to take time out to develop a special interest. These posts combine protected time dedicated to your chosen special interest as well as education and career development with practical patient‑facing care.

Main duties
  • Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients presenting to the ED.
  • Referral of patients to other specialities as appropriate.
  • Dedicated special interest day per week.
  • Involvement in specialty and cross‑specialty multi‑disciplinary teams and meetings.
  • Involvement in relevant administration duties.
  • Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate.
  • Active involvement in audit and clinical governance including service improvement activities.

Qualifications
  • Full GMC Registration with licence to practise.
  • Medical Degree from recognised medical school.
  • Pre‑registration/foundation training and appropriate experience in recognised training‑grade posts relevant to EM at junior doctor level or above minimum 3 years including adequate experience in Emergency Medicine (i.e. minimum 6 months).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Possesses good communication skills.
