At Hampshire Music Service (HMS), we believe music has the power to transform, inspire, and connect. As the lead partner in the Hampshire Music Education Hub, we deliver high-quality music education to over 25,000 pupils every year, supported by a team of 160 dedicated teachers.
We are seeking a Visiting Music Teacher with experience in SEND delivery to join our team. This is more than a teaching role, it’s an opportunity to make a profound difference to some of Hampshire’s most vulnerable children and young people. Through music, you’ll create moments of joy, build confidence, and support wellbeing, delivering specialist provision in SEND schools and settings, Alternative Provision, and secure homes.
Reporting to the Strategic Lead for Inclusion and ultimately the Head of Service, you will design and deliver bespoke music programmes tailored to individual needs, working closely with schools, alternative provisions, and partner agencies. Your role will be central to growing this vital area of work, championing Hampshire County Council’s priorities for inclusion and access to education.

We’re looking for an experienced music educator with a degree or equivalent experience, skilled in engaging and inspiring children and young people, including those with SEND and complex needs. You’ll have a strong understanding of adaptive teaching and trauma‑informed practice, creativity to explore diverse musical genres, and excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with multi‑agency teams. The role requires flexibility, travel, and a commitment to empowering learners through innovative approaches to music education.
