Roles and Responsibilities
  • Have regard for the need to safeguard pupils' well-being following statutory provisions
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across KS3–KS5 that ignite passion for music and performance
  • Inspire students to explore composition, performance and music theory with creativity and confidence
  • Organise and lead musical events, concerts and extra‑curricular clubs such as choir, orchestra or band
  • Foster a positive and energetic classroom environment that celebrates talent and teamwork
  • Encourage self‑expression and critical listening through diverse musical traditions and styles
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing targeted feedback to help every learner succeed
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills following the school's behaviour policy
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers, ensuring open, respectful and timely communication to celebrate success and address concerns
  • Engage in continuous professional learning, embracing feedback and contribute to departmental excellence
